Welcome! Essential Energy offers a drug-free choice for health.
We have moved to our new location at 251 Central Ave, Suite 2 in Dover. This
site will be undergoing renovations in the near future, but still provides you with an introduction to Essential Energy, along with information
on health and Chinese medicine.
Joseph Allis is pleased to be the first licensed acupuncturist practicing in Dover, NH.
The goal of acupuncture, the prime modality used in Classical Chinese medicine, is to restore balance to the internal
energies (qi) of an
individual, thereby helping to prevent or reverse acute or chronic
health issues and promote whole health. Acupuncture utilizes a refined sytem of
inquiry, assessment, evaluation, and treatment for rebalancing one's energies. The World Health
Organization identifies numerous conditions that have been treated
successfully with acupuncture - allergies, headaches, back and joint
pain, sports injuries, gynecological issues and infertility to name a
few. The results of
acupuncture may be dramatic or subtle, but the benefits are long
lasting and pervasive.

Acupuncture is safe. Joseph is certified in clean needle techniques set by
the NCCAOM and OSHA. Here, at Essential Energy, a sterile acupuncture needle is used only once, at one acupuncture point, and never again. The needles used are made of surgical
stainless steel and so thin that 5 acupuncture needles fit inside
the hole of a hypodermic needle.
The office is clean, friendly and relaxing. Joseph has successfully treated
many different types of health issues. Please call to discuss your personal situation. He looks forward to meeting with
you and helping you achieve optimal health.

"Become
more aware of how you choose to treat this miracle of a body. Talk to
it as you give it exercise, good food, and generous amounts of fresh
water. I bless you wonderous body of mine. By being more aware of what
a perfect creation you are, I will avoid mistreating you."
Wayne Dyer, Wisdom of the Ages
About Classical Chinese Medicine
Chinese medicine is the oldest health care system still in
use today; it is widely practiced throughout the world. Evolving out
of Taoist philosophy, it is based upon laws of nature which are
observable by all. According to this healing system, health is not just the absence of symptoms but a state of balance in mind, body and spirit.
Classical
Chinese medicine operates upon the universal principle that any change in matter
must be preceded by a change in the state of energy. The concept of qi is integral to Chinese medicine and philosophy. Qi
may be translated as energy or life force - that which animates the
world. It is present in all things and throughout the universe. The human body is a microcosm of the macrocosm (the universe);
the same forces that work in nature also affect the body.
Classical Chinese medicine seeks to affect health by unblocking, freeing or guiding one's qi
via acupuncture points so that the body's energies flow freely and
maintain homeostasis within the environment. Symptoms of seemingly
incongruent nature often make perfect sense when looking at the
energetic principles of the body. In classical Chinese medicine, the
practitioner treats the whole person, not just the disease or the
current symptoms. By restoring energetic balance, ailments
are resolved at their root cause.
"There is no way to measure what unpleasant experience we might avoid tomorrow, by making healthy choices today."
